Adapting
There’s a story that is told. One seemingly of acceptance in a disappointing reality. Like this person is living a life they didn’t picture could ever happen, and because they’ve been thrust into it, they’re having a difficult time adapting to the point where their mind is rejecting it as a whole. That past life - was - their life. That’s all that it will ever be to them. Nothing can change that because they don’t want it to change. Their denial in it all is as close to the comfort they used to feel - and so forth remain in that feeling as it’s the only way they don’t continue to hurt as much as it already has.
That’s my interpretation of the text. I guess I can relate to it a bit. Maybe I might even be that person to an extent. Like only folks who’ve been in similar situations are capable of relating to, whereas it may be completely alien to the average folk. The text was written simply, yet perfectly.
